Hello,

I am trying to calculate the median age at first marriage for Afghanistan 2015 DHS. For that, I am using DHS stata code accessible at https://github.com/DHSProgram/DHS-Indicators-Stata/tree/mast er/Chap04_MS

The median age at first marriage for 20-49 year old women I seem to be getting is 18.19

However this is different from the median age at first marriage indicator on STATCompiler which is 18.8.

Since the Afghanistan DHS report has been withdrawn, I'm not sure exactly how to check this indicator. Can someone guide me on how to replicate this result?

Hi, I wanted to repeat my question since it has not received a response. Would appreciate any help on this.

Thank you

We apologize for the delay with this response. The Afghanistan survey was limited to ever-married women (EMW). Your query led us to look at our GitHub code for median age at marriage. We see that it does not extend to EMW surveys. We are adding a comment to GitHub about that limitation, and will try to add that extension in the near future.

We now have repositories of code written in Stata and SPSS available on Github. Please reference these code repositories as a resource for code for matching or calculating DHS indicators. The code repositories can be found at:
