Hello,

Is it possible to link fathers/husbands to anthropometric data in the DHS?

Following is a response from DHS Research & Data Analysis Director, Tom Pullum:

If the father is living in the same household as the child, then (in the PR file) the father's line number (within the same cluster and household) is given by hv114. You can do a merge and attach the father's data to the child's line. If you are working with the KR file, rather than the PR file, and/or if you want to attach the father's data from the MR file, the merges are more complicated, but they can be done.

Hello,

Is there a Stata thread for this merge? to this? Both within the PR file
and the KR and MR files? Trying to compare with what I have.

Thank you!

Following is another response from DHS Research & Data Analysis Director, Tom Pullum:

This is a difficult merge involving several files. It should be possible but it's one I have never done before. I hope it will eventually appear in a group of merge routines we plan to put onto our GitHub site. Until then, we cannot provide it.
