For Chad DHS 2014-15, the number of women selected and interviewed for the 'Domestic Violence' were 4,283 based on the variable v044. While the number of women who answered the question "Respondent's father ever beat her mother" was 4,268 based on the variable d121. So, is it correct to assume that for 15 women this information is missing?

Similarly, for DR Congo DHS 2013-14, the number of women selected and interviewed for the 'Domestic Violence' module were 6,811 based on variable v044. While the number of women who answered the question "Respondent's father ever beat her mother" was 6,800 based on the variable d121. So, for 11 records is this information missing?

I understand that in Stata dot/period implies 'Not Applicable', but I am unable to figure out if any filter would explain this discrepancy of 15 records in Chad and 11 records in DR Congo.

Kindly guide.

Thanks.

Following is a response from DHS Research & Data Analysis Director, Tom Pullum:

Yes, the information for those 15 and 11 cases is missing.
