Hi,

I am looking at doing an analysis for a range of counries over time, and would therefore like to use the IPUMS-DHS data to facilitate analysis. However, I need cluster level geographic data to perform my analysis, and IPUMS-DHS do not offer this level of detail in their geographic data. I was therefore wondering - is there any way to link the cluster level GPS data files from the standard DHS page with the household data from IPUMS-DHS surveys?

I have tried to look into this but I am very confused as to if it is possible, and if so which variables should be used to link the data. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

The DHSID variable links the GPS clusters to IPUMS DHS. This is a 14-digit variable that is present in both the DHS and IPUMS DHS datasets. (Please note that this is different from the IDHSID variable that IPUMS DHS uses as an identifier.)
