For Burkina Faso DHS 2010, nine records are coded as '3' i.e. "women selected but not interviewed". While for Chad DHS 2014-15, there are 45 records coded as '3'. Are there any particular reasons as to why these women could not be interviewed? As records/women who could not be interviewed owing to privacy concerns are coded separately.
Thank you.

Following is a response from DHS Research & Data Analysis Director, Tom Pullum:

During fieldwork, some cases may be lost because the respondent could not be found at home, even after repeated visits, or the interview had to discontinued because of interruptions. Specific reasons other than refusals are not always coded.
