Is there anyone who can help me how to import .dta file of the IPUMS data in to R?

One way is to extract the IPUMS-DHS data in a CSV format, then use the read.csv function contained in R's "foreign" package. If you have problems getting this to work, send details to ipums@umn.edu, including your user name and the date of your IPUMS-DHS extract, to get more help.
