Hi

I'm using the household member recode of the 2015-16 India Survey.
I noticed that when I apply the household sample weight (hv005), it changes the total n.
Please find attached an example, copied from Stata. You will notice that the total frequency changes.

Is this normal ?

Thank you in advance.

Following is a response from DHS Senior Sampling Specialist, Mahmoud Elkasabi:

From the frequencies you sent, I assume you are using the PR dataset. If so, the results look OK. We control the weighted n vs. n only in the HR dataset, where the weighted total of completed household will match the unweighted total, but this is not necessarily the case on the individual level in the PR.
