Hello! I am using Nigeria 2008 datasets and having trouble with finding the right variables to merge children (KR) and individual members (PR).
can anyone help please?

Thank you. I have done the merging several times but never between KR and PR, which I think is not covered in any other topic among the discussions, if I am not wrong. I am struggling this time in getting the variables (and cases) matching but I will try to follow the table you kindly sent and some other discussions. Thanks, Regards.

Pooling multiple years is not a "merge", it is an "append". You just add the second round of data onto the first round of data.

There are a number of posts on the forum about dealing with weights and clustering when using multiple survey rounds, but there is no "merging" to be done, just "appending"... the DHS is not longitudinal, so there is no information to be linked from one survey round to the next in terms of merging variables. Another survey is just another set of observations from a different point in time.
