Hi there
I am doing an analysis using the 2013-14 Malawi SPA data looking at family planning.
I was wondering if anyone could tell me where the information for variables v2002a - v2002d came from. The recode file does not seem to link up to a question in the questionnaire. v2002a is the number of family planning providers and I am trying to understand whether that is the number of providers on the day of the survey or if that is the number of family planning providers at the facility.
I would be very grateful for any help with this matter

Following is a response from DHS SPA Specialist, Rajendra Dangol:

Following is the CsPro logic on how we created these variables. Actually, these variables are coming from the provider level to facility-level file after counting the providers and transferred x2002a as z2002a, x2002b as z2002b and so on. Hope this helps.

if modtmpfp or sterfp then
if P400=1 then
x2002a=x2002a+1;
x2002b=x2002b+(count(P403000 where P403=1)>0);
x2002c=x2002c+superv;
x2002d=x2002d+((count(P403000 where P403=1)>0) & superv);
endif;
endif;
