Following is a response from DHS Lead Malaria Research Analyst, Cameron Taylor:

Dear Epiphane,

It is always good to see new DHS data users. I would highly recommend if you are new to DHS, before diving into analysis you take time to read through and/or watch some of our informational resources.

Introduction to DHS Datasets https://youtu.be/fzLNQkkvDeI
Introduction to DHS Data Structure https://youtu.be/BmiSDPebmgc
Matching DHS tables https://youtu.be/tjuaPV4eC_E

For your research question, I would recommend you read more about the IPTp and birthweight of child indicators. There are some major limitations to the data that might lead you to have spurious outcomes. For example, both IPTp and birthweight are based on mother's recall up to two years before the survey. Also you won't have information about ITN/LLIN usage during pregnancy. You only know among currently pregnant women if they used an ITN/LLIN the night before the survey.

Household Survey Indicators for Malaria Control (French) https://www.malariasurveys.org/documents/Household%20Survey% 20Indicators%20for%20Malaria%20Control_FINAL%20French.pdf

Hope this helps
