Hi,

113C in the biomarker questionnaire (Nigeria Demographic and Health Survey 2018 PDF manual) refers to SICKLE CELL ANEMIA (SS) REFERRAL.

Is it possible to get the total number or percentage of ill sickle cell anemia referred to the health facility and the number of ill sickle cell anemia children not referred to the health facility using variable 113C?

Following is a response from DHS Research & Data Analysis Director, Tom Pullum:

You can calculate the percentage of children with each specific genotype who are referred, but there is no information about whether the child is showing symptoms of illness associated with these specific genotypes.
