I want to replicate the table no 16.7 "Experience of different types of violence" of NFHS-4 of India. I have computed the different types of violence in last 12 months by any husband and I have tried by that variables of violence but I am unable to get the values of the table no 16.7 . Can you help with ideas how to create or with STATA code???

Hello,

Please check the code on our code share library for the domestic violence indicators and other main indicators listed in the guide to DHS statistics.

Our code share library has code available in Stata and SPSS, please read the readme file before using the code: https://github.com/DHSProgram

Domestic violence Stata code is found here: https://github.com/DHSProgram/DHS-Indicators-Stata/tree/mast er/Chap17_DV
Specially you can check the DV_vio.do file but also check the main file in case there are important notes.

Thank you.

Best,

Hello,

I ran the DV_VIOL.do file for this survey and computed the domestic violence weight:

gen dwt = d005/1000000

*For table 16.7

tab dv_phy_only [iw=dwt]
*I obtain 24.3% instead of 24.6% in the report

tab dv_sex_only [iw=dwt]
*I obtain 1.1% instead of 1% in the report

tab dv_phy_sex_any [iw=dwt]
I obtain 30.6% instead of 30.4% in the report

Are these the estimates you are getting? I could not find the reason behind these slight discrepancies.

Best,
Shireen

Yes, I am also getting that exact values what you are getting. There are small discrepancies but why?
