Dear Bridgette and SPA experts,

Posting here in case it comes up for others: in the DR Congo 2017-18 SPA survey, in the sick child observation dataset CDSC71FLSP.dta, the value labels for xc125 (child weighed, reported in caretaker exit interview), are coded as 1=non (no), 2=oui (yes), indicating that 85% (unweighted estimate) of children were NOT weighed:

. ta xc125

      child |
    weighed | Freq. Percent Cum.
------------+-----------------------------------
     1. non | 2,255 84.77 84.77
     2. oui | 405 15.23 100.00
------------+-----------------------------------
      Total | 2,660 100.00

But in the questionnaire, 1=yes, 2=no. I believe the labels are reversed, that the dataset should show 1=yes 2,255 children WERE weighed in the facility, while 2=no 405 children were not, according to their caretaker report in the exit interview.

I would appreciate your confirmation in case others run into this same issue.

Thanks and best regards,
Sarah

Following is a response from Senior SPA Specialist, Mamadou Diallo:

DRC SPA: The value labels for xc125 in CDSC71SP should be reversed, so that 1=Oui, 2=Non (or 1=Yes, 2=No) aligning with the questionnaire and all other SPA datasets.

A corrected version will be made available as soon as possible .
