I need help in making a media exposure variable in STATA. I need to categorize it into a binary variable.

Following is a response from DHS Research & Data Analysis Director, Tom Pullum:

First, you are asking how to construct a binary indicator of media exposure using DHS data. If you do a literature search, you will find many examples. You have to select or invent one yourself. Second, you are asking how to do it in Stata. Usually you use a combination of the "generate", "replace", and "recode" commands.
