Hi,
Currently, I am working on determinants of delayed first prenatal care in Pakistan. What STATA command used to create this variable?

Hello,

The variable you need for this question is the number of months pregnant at time of first ANC visit (m13_1 in IR file among women). This is calculated for the most recent birth in the last five years.

To understand this indicator better please refer to the Guide to DHS Statistics here: https://www.dhsprogram.com/Data/Guide-to-DHS-Statistics/inde x.htm#t=Antenatal_Care.htm%23Percent_distribution_of15bc-2&a mp;rhtocid=_12_0_1

To know how to code the variable in Stata and others listed in the Guide to DHS statistics please use our code library stored on the GitHub site here: https://github.com/DHSProgram/DHS-Indicators-Stata

The variable you are looking for is in the Reproductive health chapter (Chapter 9) and the variable you are looking for is coded in the RH_ANC.do file on GitHub here: https://github.com/DHSProgram/DHS-Indicators-Stata/tree/mast er/Chap09_RH

However to use this code and any code on our GitHub site, please first read the readme file and also the main file for the chapter. In this case you will need to run the RH_age_period.do file first then use RH_ANC.do to code the two indicators :
rh_anc_moprg "Number of months pregnant at time of first ANC visit"
rh_anc_4mo "Attended ANC <4 months of pregnancy".

Thank you.

Best,

Shireen Assaf
