My question refers to Table 11.9 of NDHS 2018.
The number of children age 6-59 months does NOT give 11,391 when using the command below. I used the PR file.
g wgt=hv005/1000000
svyset [pw=wgt], psu(hv021) strata(hv023)
svy: ta sb113b if hv103==1
What am I not getting?
Thanks

Following is a response from DHS Research & Data Analysis Director, Tom Pullum:
Some children who were tested turned out to be younger than six months of age. Therefore the correct implementation of the table title would include "if hc1>=6 & hc1<=59". If you include that and DO NOT require de facto residence, which is not explicitly stated but probably is required, you get 11,398 weighted cases. If you add the de facto requirement (hv103==1), you get 11,372. I cannot get 11, 391 weighted cases, no matter what I do. This was a non-standard table--the Nigeria 2018 DHS was the only survey ever to include sickle cell testing. However, it would seem to be a very easy table to match.
I think the correct total would be 11,372 and the given value, 11,391, is incorrect. I also think the difference is negligible and no interpretations of the results are affected.
