Dear Members,
I know it is a very basic question.
I am analysing Man's dataset of India DHS 2015-16.
I use MV005 (national men's sample weight) during analysing data.
My code:
dtadesign<-svydesign(id=sv$mv021, strata=sv$mv022, weights=sv$rmv005, data=indiamr)
However, there is another weight, named mv005s (state men's sample weight).
When I should use this weight? How can I use?
Thank you

Following is a response from DHS Research & Data Analysis Director, Tom Pullum:
If you are doing an analysis within one specific state, or separate analyses within specific states, use the state weight. Otherwise use the national weight.
