I am working on the topic "parental attitudes towards condom education for young children for Myanmar DHS 2015-2016" and two of independent variables are "gender of child" and "age of eldest child" . However, age of eldest child is only available in women dataset in birth history. So, I want to identify the father and match his eldest child age by matching with women data. Please give me advice on this. Thank you so much.

Following is a response from DHS Research & Data Analysis Director, Tom Pullum:
This survey does not include birth histories from men. However, if you go to the CR ("C" for "couples") file you will find all pairings of women and men who were living in the households in the survey and identified each other as partners. This file should allow you to identify most of the fathers. Also, for the children age 0-17 in the household survey, hv111-hv114 tell you whether the mother and father are alive and, if so, whether they are in the household. You could use this information, in addition to the CR file, to confirm that the woman's partner in the CR file is also the child's father.
Let us know if you still have questions.
