Hello DHS Community,

I have multiple surveys pooled in my sample. I am trying to understand the large number of missing values for child height variable (hw3_*). I see that even when a child is below the age of 5 years old (or 3 years old in some countries), the child height info is missing. My analysis is at the women level, so I am using the IR files.

I understand from an earlier message on the forum (#5633) that we can use v042 to see if the household has been selected for anthropometry measures.
I want to confirm that the sample selected in different countries (as captured by v042) is random and is not conditioned on any of the household or respondent's characteristics. If that is not the case, should I check the report of each survey separately to find out if the sample selected for anthropometric measurements is random, or is that information comprehensively available somewhere (I haven't been able to find it on the website.)?

Any help is much appreciated. Thank you for your time.

Cheers!
