Hello,

I would like to calculate whether the case (child)is stunted or not. I found the variable level "Height for age standard deviations from median (WHO)" in the DHS data.

Will following SPSS syntax be worked to calculate stunting?:

IF (HWHAZWHO < -200) stun_2=1.
IF (HWHAZWHO < -300) stun_3=1.

I am attaching here a file to show the frequency of the variable. If above syntax would not work, do you please, send the SPSS syntax.

I am looking forward very much to get your kind response.
