Dear all,
I would like to merge municipality information for a different source with different DHS data sets for Colombia. I know that for 2005, 2010 and 2015 I have to concatenated the variable "department" and "municipality" on each survey to get the DANE municipality code. However, it has not been possible to do this with 1995 and 2000 waves as the "smunip" is code from 1 to 61 specific to DHS for surveyed municipalities that can not be used with the official DANE municipalities codes. What can I do? Could you please help me to obtain the municipality code used by the Colombian Statistical office(DANE) in 1995 and 2000 waves?
Thank you.
Sofia

Hi Sofia,
I had a question about merging DANE and DHS municipality datasets. Were you able to match the municipality codes of DANE with DHS? I am working with the 2005 census municipality codes from DANE and trying to merge the 2010 DHS women's survey using municipality codes (created by concatenating department and municipality), but the codes of the two sources seem very different and I have not been able to match them! I already asked on the forum as a separate query but I have not received any response yet, thus, I would appreciate any help from you regarding this issue, thanks!
