Good morning,

I read a paper recently in which the author used the DHS (Philippines) to analyse educational attainment and adolescent childbirth.
One of the variables used was 'age at menarche' which means 'age at first menstruation' as an instrumental variable to address the endogeneity in the relationship between education and adolescent childbirth.

I am trying to do a similar study on Nigeria, but the NDHS doesn't seem to have the 'age at menarche' variable.

I will like to ask if that was captured during the survey in Nigeria and how to access the variable, or if there is another variable in the NDHS which could serve that purpose.

Please, kindly assist. Thank you.
