Hi,
I wanted to calculate pneumococcal vaccination coverage.
There are six variables for receiving the first dose (h54_1,... h54_6). It's the same for the second and third doses. How do I process these to create variables to identify individuals who received at least one dose and those who received all three doses.
I could not find this any recode documention or DHS forum topic. Any help would be appreciated.

Following is a response from DHS Research & Data Analysis Director, Tom Pullum:
Like all the other immunizations, h54_* in the IR file refers to all children born in the past five years, up to 6 children. It will be better to use the KR file, in which children are units and the variables are h54, h55, and h56, for pneumococcal 1, 2, 3, respectively. In that file you could construct a variable that is I if the child received all three, and 0 otherwise. I recommend that you read the section on immunizations in the Guide to DHS Statistics, which is on the website. Let us know if you still have trouble.
