Hello There,
I am facing a problem with calculating age-specific death rates from the fourth round of the National Family Health Survey, India. I am trying the method which is described in the DHS-7 to calculate adult mortality rates for which I have to estimate the period of exposure for the denominator for each age-group. But the main problem is I need the proper data on the date of birth for living as well as dead persons who are not available appropriately in the household file. The age-specific death rates for two years prior to the survey are given in the National reports of the survey, but the method followed for the calculation is not explicitly explained. Please suggest to me what best I can try to calculate the age-specific death rates when data on date of birth is not given appropriately??
