I want to replicate the Median number of years of schooling completed (from table 2.17, India National Report). I am using following STATA code but unable to get exact value reported in the national report.

tabstat hv108 [aweight=iwt] if hv103 == 1 & (hv105 >=10 & hv105 <=14) & (hv108 >= 0 & hv108 <=20), statistics(mean p50) by (hv104) format(%10.2fc)

Any help in this regard would be highly appreciated. Thanks!

You can find code to compute the median year of education on or DHS GitHub Site (https://github.com/DHSProgram). The direct link to the code for this indicator is: https://github.com/DHSProgram/DHS-Indicators-Stata/blob/mast er/Chap03_RC/RC_CHAR.do

The variable name in the do file is rc_edu_median.

You need to use the IR or MR file for this indicator. I see you were using the PR file. For this indicator and many others, SPSS and Stata code will be provided on GitHub. We now have more than half of the indicators coded.
