Dear experts,

I am trying to calculate the median birth intervals in India in total and of each district using NFHS4 data set and will then regress them with stunting prevalence using STATA 15.1.

1a) My first question is whether to use b11 directly or to calculate from CMC dates that were provided. The DHS guide was not so helpful which is why I would like to ask experts.

1b) Does b11 variable exclude women who have been sterilized, women who use contraceptives and first births?

1c) What would the code look like if I were to use b11 directly?

2) The second question is regarding the SVYSET command. What would I need to use for strata if I am analyzing district wise? Would using hv023 (PR) and v023 (BR) be wrong? Would I need to use shdistri?

Thank you in advance.

Best,
Dafna
