The PMI MIP team met with MCH and HIV colleagues and had the following question: Our team was interested in having some discussions around the possibility of a 'pregnancy history' module that could collect data beyond those data currently collected for live births for example, pregnancy outcomes that did not end in a live birth and care seeking behaviours in those circumstances. Our team would be interested in having conversations with the DHS team on such a possibility, as a trial module (not part of the core). All of the groups (Malaria, MCH, and HIV) felt such a module might provide some very interesting information about pregnancy and health care that would be informative for programming in all of our areas (for example: malaria is a major cause of stillbirth and spontaneous abortion but we have no way of knowing what the prevalance of those issues are because those data are not collected currently. Similarly we don't have any information on whether miscarriage is more prevalent in women who don't get IPTp). MCH and HIV also have similar questions on those pregnancy issues.
