USAID/PRH here again. Wanted to clarify our suggested questions related to the request for a measure of knowledge of return to fertility following birth, miscarriage, or abortion, following Q240
1) Information need: If men and women were aware of how quickly fertility can return, this could greatly impact FP uptake in the immediate postpartum and post-abortion (spontaneous/induced) periods. To guide programming, we need to know how widespread return to fertility knowledge is, both among men and women. An indicator, for example, can be "% of women/men with correct knowledge on return to fertility postpartum".
2) Suggested questions, in both men's and women's questionnaire:
• "After the birth of a child, can a woman can become pregnant before her menstrual period has returned?" <yes, no, don't know>
• "Can a woman can become pregnant within two weeks after a miscarriage or an abortion?" <yes, no, don't know>
Previous Topic: Out of pocket cost
Next Topic: distinguishing newborn deaths from stillbirths
