Can I anyone explain how the districts have been coded in NFHS 4.

I am comparing districts across NFHS 1, 2 and 4. Are there any files/codes that can help me match districts from NFHS 4 to NFHS 1 ?

Following is a response from Senior DHS Specialist Guillermo Rojas:

For NFHS-4 the district codes and labels are included in the data files. We don't have any way of linking districts in previous phases with NFHS-4. Users may want to contact IIPS in Mumba1, India for that purpose.

Hi,
I'd like to merge NFHS-4 and NFHS-2/1 at the district-level as well. I was wondering if you'd contacted the IIPS at Mumbai and if that had been helpful.

I need the district codes for NFHS 4 for a diff-in-diff analysis with NFHS 5. Please let me know if you had any luck with that!
