Dear DHS forum,

unfortunately I can't find any information regarding ethical consideration stated in the final report for the Tanzania DHS 2015-2016 except the informed consent for blood collection from children under five years old. I have tried e-mailing NIMR which is the official authority for approving research in Tanzania but their e-mails appear to be broken.

Does anyone have information regarding the ethical approval and considerations of the 2015-2016 DHS in Tanzania?

Dear Magashi, Requesting consent for individual interview from female procedures is the same for all women age 15-49. Consent statements are printed in the questionnaires, in the survey final reports in an Appendix. See the Tanzania final report Appendix E for the questionnaires. The consent statement on the first page of the Woman's Questionnaire requests the woman's consent for the individual interview, which includes the domestic violence module. See also questions/statements within the Domestic Violence module itself (Qs. 1401, 1401A, and the statement prior to Q. 1431).
