Dear experts,
I am using NFHS-4 data of India, and want to know if a trained health practitioner has provided the postnatal care to mother.
Does the NFHS-4 data carry variable to measure that? If yes, then what is that variable?
Thank you.

The website IPUMS DHS is useful to answer questions like this. One of its key features is showing whether variables are included in particular surveys.

Selecting the most recent Indian survey and searching for "postnatal", I found that this is asked for all women's births in the last five years, up to six births. In IPUMS DHS, the variables are called pnbabckwho_1 and pnbabckwho_all. The former will give you the information for the woman's most recent birth; the latter will give you information on all of the woman's recent births.

If you wish to download DHS data using IPUMS DHS, this User Guide will be helpful.

IPUMS DHS also indicates that the original DHS variable name is m72_1 for the most recent birth.
