Hi,

I have worked om a paper which uses the 2011 DHS data for Bangladesh and Nepal. We are in the stage of submitting this paper to a journal. The journal requirement specifies the authors to include a statement on ethics approval. I would appreciate your guidance in this regard. Do you have some format or statements that need to be included while writing the ethics statement.

I'm submitting a paper. Only DHS (Standard DHS, Continuous DHS, Interim DHS, Special DHS) surveys were used.

Good day!

I am also planning to conduct a research using 2013 DHS data of the Philippines. To obtain ethical clearance, I am required to submit documentation regarding the ethical guidelines for data collection, storage, and processing of the data. I am also required to cite the data privacy policy of the institution which stores the data in line with the data privacy act of the Philippines. I hope you could help me with these documentation reports.

Your response will be greatly appreciated.

Hi,

I am drafting a manuscript that uses the 2014 Cambodia DHS data and wondered if DHS prefers authors to include an ethics statement in manuscripts? Any guidance on ethics statements or information on ethics approval would be greatly appreciated.

Hi!

Similar with the last query, I've also used the 2013 Philippine Demographic and Health Survey and planning to submit it for publication but the journal is also requesting for a statement of ethical approval. In the final report, it was mentioned that the survey protocol were reviewed and approved by the Institutional Review Board of ICF International. However, I would further like to be enlightened if technical and ethical clearance approval were also done in the Philippines.

I am working on a paper in which I used Malawi 2015-16 DHS data for analysis. We are in the stage of submitting this paper to a journal. The journal requirement specifies the authors to include a statement as below.

As the Human Participants data are involved in the study, Please provide-
* a statement confirming all the methods are approved by the institutional or licensed Ethical Committee. Kindly confirm the current institution has Ethical Committee or not. Please mention the name of the Ethical Committee by which the study is approved.
*a statement confirming that informed consent was obtained from all participants for the study. Participants must be aware of the study. Please provide confirmation for Informed consent.
Please provide all the statements in Declaration Section (Ethical Approval and consent to participate).
