How can I use the couples file for male involvement in women?Is there a need to merge men's file?

The CR file has almost all the variables that are in the MR file. What variables that are in the MR file, but not in the CR file, do you want to use? And what does "male involvement" refer to?

Male involvement that I think about here is the the participation/the concern that male has given to the health needs of their female counterparts during maternity period.

Following is a response from DHS Research Data Analyst, Christina Juan:

Based on the latest India 2015-16 men's questionnaire, here are the questions and corresponding variables that relate to your topic:

• Q324: When (NAME)'s mother was pregnant with (NAME), did she have any antenatal check-ups? mv248 is found in both the MR and CR files.
• Q325: Were you ever present during any antenatal check-up? mv249 is in both files.
• Other relevant questions regarding male involvement during the "maternity period" would also include questions Q326-331. For example, for Q326 ("What was the main reason why (NAME)'s mother did not have any antenatal check-up?"), this would fall under sm326. For whether the man was told by a provider about specific signs of pregnancy complications, this would fall under sm327a-e in both MR and CR data files.

Thus all the relevant information from the men's questionnaire is included in both the MR file and in the CR file (for men with coresident partners). You do not need to do any merging of files.

Before starting to do the study the problem of weight also troubles.

How can the weight variable be created for the couple?
