Thanks so much for the quick response. I've looked at these resources--yes, the report does answer my question partly. The break down of the sample of households for the women and men samples is indicated in the pages you reference, but there is no breakdown of the total number of households in each region from which the sample was selected. Also, while the overall number of enumeration areas in the sample was reported, the regional break down of the sample and the total number of EAs in each region was not included in the report. I followed the link you shared to the UBOS website, but while it provides a description of the 1991 census, there is no data on the distribution of EAs. I assume these data is contained in the sampling frame for the 2000/1 UDHS. I'd still appreciate further help on this issue.
