Never/ever attended schools using NFHS-4 [message #16361]

How can I compute ever attended schools using NFHS-4?
School attendance status variable (hv129) of 'PR' data file probably enables to compute ever and never attended schools. But, this variable has no observation in the data file.
Please help.

Following is a response from Senior DHS Stata Specialist, Tom Pullum:

The only school attendance variables included in this survey are hv121-hv124, and they refer only to attendance during the current school year by children at the appropriate age. DHS surveys usually include more information. The decision to omit more complete information in this survey was unfortunate.
