I want to study child mortality day wise after birth. Can any one inform me the latest research on the this?

Here is a response from one of our experts, Dr. Shea Rutstein:
The DHS surveys record deaths to live born children in number of days for deaths that occur in the first month of life. However, take into consideration that the responses by mothers may not be exactly accurate, i.e. child deaths in the first day of life may be recorded that the child lived one day rather than 0 days (less than 24 hours) and that some first week deaths maybe responded as lived one week and therefore be recorded as 7 days because there is no recording of number of weeks.
