Dear colleagues,

Using the KR file of the Malawi DHS 2015-16 dataset, after excluding all missing cases (i.e. all cases >9998) and weighting my data, I found the following rates of childhood under-nutrition:

Stunting: 36.8% (against the reported 37% in the DHS report)

Underweight: 11.6% (against the reported 12%)

Wasting: 2.8% (against the reported 3%)

However, I noticed that while the numbers of PSUs and Strata are 850 and 56 respectively for Underweight and Wasting, for stunting I keep getting 849 PSUs and yet the correct number of Strata (56).

Could somebody please explain what I could be doing wrong to be getting the 849 PSUs for stunting?

Best regards,

Bryan.
