I want to double check: in the KDHS 2008 you have information on the circumcision of merely one daughter.
Is this the eldest daughter, or the most recently cut daughter?
I found documents with contradicting information, and do not want to make mistakes in my analysis.
Can anyone help me on this issue?

Thanks a lot!

And more, does the variable 'line of most recently circumcise daughter' then related to the daughter on which is informed?
And does it values corresponds to the value of the BIDX or BORD variable?

IPUMS DHS provides documentation that can help with this. Select the Kenya 2008 sample and then navigate to the female circumcision variables. Each variable name is a hot link. Click on the link and you'll see tabs across the top of the page. I found the answer to this question under the SURVEY TEXT tab. There you can jump right into the text of the survey where the relevant question was asked.

The relevant questions and instructions are there. I copy them here:

"1311. CHECK 1310:

"ONE LIVING DAUGHTER __
"What is your daughter's name?

"MORE THAN ONE LIVING DAUGHTER __
"Which of your daughters was circumcised most recently?

"DAUGHTER'S NAME ____
"DAUGHTER'S LINE NUMBER FROM Q. 212 __

"1312. Now I would like to ask you what was done to (NAME OF THE DAUGHTER FROM Q. 1311) at that time. Was any flesh removed from her genital area?

"YES 1 (GO TO 1314)
"NO 2
"DON'T KNOW 8"

From the survey text, it is clear that the questions are asked of the most recently circumcised daughter.
