I'm trying to find out the household prevalence of diarrhoea i.e no of children with diarrhoea in the household/Total no of children in the household. If i use the de jure no of children in the household file (hv102) and merge with the KR file there are households which have reported zero de jure children but have reported children with diarrhoea in the KR file. I'm using the file for India. Is there any way I can do this?

Alternatively can i remove the dead cases for diarrhoea prevalence from KR file and then create a new varibale with the value 1. Then collapse this by household with the function sum. This would give me the no of children in the household. Is this a right way to do it.
