Hi,

I'm using the Chad 2014-2015 women data to calculate frequencies of some contraceptive care measures. I was wondering if DHS provides population totals for users to apply a finite population correction?

Thanks!

Following is a response from Senior DHS Specialist, Tom Pullum:

The finite population correction is not necessary for DHS surveys. For example, if the population of Chad at the time of the survey was 14 million and the sample size was 100,000 (approximately the number of cases in the PR file), the overall sampling fraction was about 1 in 140 or 0.007. The effect of the adjustment would be negligible.
