Dear DHS Team,
I'm trying to access some maternal health variables like the number of antenatal visits in the 2015 DHS (Nigeria). However, the relevant variables such as m14_1 up to m14_6 are system missing, and their variable codes read: "na: number of antenatal visits during pregnancy", weirdly suggesting that they are "Not Applicable". Any help with resolving this will be highly appreciated.
Sincerely,
Chijioke Nwosu.

Quick follow up on IPUMS DHS. If you use this website to download the data, you can instantly see (by clicking on a variable name) how the variable was constructed, how many missing cases it has, the survey text used to generate it, and more.
I find it easiest to select my samples of interest (Select Samples button) before browsing the variables because there are so many countries included in IPUMS DHS now.
To create a data file, you add samples and variables to your "Data Cart." When you want to download your data, click on "View Cart," and follow the instructions. Be sure to click "Change" to select the data format that works best for you.
Hope you find this helpful!

Hi Liz,
Apologies for the delayed response, and thanks for the info. But I've discovered that the source of the problem is that the Nigeria 2015 DHS is not a complete survey. It is the MIS survey (Malaria Indicator Survey), so some of the modules were not collected.
Chijioke.
