Dear DHS Team,

The suggested citation for NFHS-4 mention IIPS,Mumbai and ICF. We plan to publish a manuscript based on the secondary analysis of the unit level data from NFHS-4. We have acknowledged the DHS program for providing access to the data upon request and have mentioned that all the data use guidelines as prescribed were strictly followed.

Do we also need to put a formal request for using the data for publication? If yes, should it be sent to both IIPS and ICF, or is the acknowledgement sufficient.

Kindly clarify.

Thanks,
Tarun

If you are already an authorized user on dhsprogram.com, a formal request for using the data is not required. However, users are required to submit an electronic copy of any reports/publications resulting from using the DHS data files to: archive@dhsprogram.com.
