I am using the Children's recode file IAKR71. I am looking at respondent's occupation variable v717. This is missing for around 82% of the observations. Should we assume that these are not working?

Following is a response from Senior Data Processing Specialist, Mianmian Yu:

Women's occupation was collected only at households that were selected for state module. Out of those valid cases, you would find only 1.1% cases with a status reported as "Don't know".

Hi, Bridgette, I am interested in this question as well. So, I cannot have reliable individual information for women's occupation in the child recode file and how do I get the state module ones, at least I get a number for each state.
