I just got access to the GIS data and am looking to merge it to the Individual Recode file. The GIS dbf file has a variable called "DHSCLUST" that seems to correspond to the v001 variable in the Individual recode, so I assume I would merge these datasets on this variable. There are far fewer observations in the GIS data, which seems to imply that many respondents in the Individual Recode could occupy the same cluster. Just wanted to double check this is all correct.

Thanks,
Lou

Hi Lou,

The IR is at the personal level while the GPS is at the cluster level. If you ran a tab of v001 in stata, you would see that it has the same number of entries as DHSCLUST.

best,
