Currently, I am facing problem using the data of "out of pocket expenditure of last delivery" in "NFHS 4 for India". I am unable to comprehend that is the total out of pocket expenditure data in real terms or nominal terms? If it is in real term, then what is the base year. Please clarify my doubts.

The delivery costs are in nominal terms. They refer to the costs at the time of each woman's last live birth in the five years before the survey. Therefore, they are not the costs for any particular calendar year. The data come from Questions 448A-449 in the Woman's Questionnaire, and you need to look at the results for each of those questions, paying particular attention to the skip patterns. The Woman's Questionnaire is available at https://www.dhsprogram.com/pubs/pdf/FR339/FR339.W.pdf.
