Hi,

I am currently investigating masculinity in Colombian men. To do this, I am using the men's component of "General perceptions on attributions to masculinity and femininity" that is presented for the first time in the DHS-2015 for Colombia.

However, I do not know which theoretical or methodological criteria were adopted for the inclusion of the items in the survey, with respect to:
- Agrees on gender relations statements SM1101a to SM1101L.
- Agrees on statements SM1102A to SM1102H.
- Wife justified refusing sex (MV633A to MV633D).

Specifically, my questions are:
For the inclusion of the items, was a masculinity scale adopted? or were they based on something else?

I greatly appreciate the collaboration.
