Dear All,

I am pretty new to DHS Data and QGis and currently trying to join Household-Member Recode Data (xls) to spatial data (shapefile). I would very much appreciate your help.

I have obtained Ethiopian Household-Member Recode Data and the connected geo-coded shapefile from DHS. Using QGis and following the "MEASURE DHS and MEASURE Evaluation GIS Training" Document I tried to join this Excel file with the shapefile on QGIS.

Now the problem I have is, that in the xls file I have about 10.000 cases but when I join xls and shapefile (with the cluster-number as the common indicator) I have only about 600 cases left.
This is because the individual cases in the xls do not have individual cluster-numbers but are grouped into clusters and when joining QGIS just uses ONE case of the xls to represent the whole cluster.

So my question is how to include all my 10.000 cases into my spatial representation at QGIS?

I would be very thankful for any help!!

Thank you and best regards
Nadine
