Good morning,

I need a variable reporting the childhood place of living of individuals (women) but this kind of variable (recoded v103) is not available for Malawi. How can I proceed? I tried to reduce my sample to those individuals always lived in the same type of residence (recoded v104 = 95) in order to obtain something exogenous. Is it the right way to do it?

Following is a response from Senior DHS Stata Specialist, Tom Pullum:

You are right, v103 is NA in the latest Malawi survey. The related variables v104 and v105 are also NA. Unfortunately, I don't think there is any indirect way to obtain the information that would have been given by those variables.
