Hello,

I am trying to replicate table 5.11, specifically the column on percentage who have began childbearing, however, when I use var v213 by itself or combine v213 and v201 (for those that have at least one child), none of the figures match to the 2014 DHS report. Would you kindly provide me with the variable that was used to tabulate this proportion?

Many thanks.

Dear User,
A response from analyst, Lindsay Mallick:

To match this table, the user will simply need to create a variable for teenage women who have begun childbearing by first creating the denominator of women 15-19, then selecting women who are currently pregnant or who have had a live birth. Creating this simple variable yields a match to the final report.

gen teenmom = 0 if v013==1
replace teenmom =1 if (v213==1|bidx_01==1)&v013==1
tab teenmom [iw=wt]

Please refer to the new DHS video series on how to match tables.
