I am wondering what exactly is meant by "fatalistic" in question V3A08H in the Togo 2013-14 DHS? I'm curious what responses the women gave in order to be classified as "fatalistic" in relation to not using contraceptive methods. Thanks!

Dear User,
"FATALISTIC means that the respondent feels that the pregnancy is predetermined by fate and she has no control over pregnancy"
In the current and previous version of the Interviewer's manual the category is:
"UP TO GOD/FATALISTIC" with the same meaning.
http:// dhsprogram.com/publications/publication-DHSM1-DHS-Questionna ires-and-Manuals.cfm Page 99
The current and previous version of the Standard Woman's Questionnaire http:// dhsprogram.com/publications/publication-dhsq7-dhs-questionna ires-and-manuals.cfm shows the category as "UP TO GOD/FATALISTIC . . . . . . . . . H" Question 810 in the woman's questionnaire.
If you have additional questions, please feel free to post again.
Thank you!
